Ice Cream Man 4K Blu-ray

Alliance Entertainment is preparing 4K Blu-ray and Blu-ray releases of Eli Roth's Ice Cream Man (2026), starring Ari Millen, Charlie Zeltzer, Shiloh O'Reilly, Sarah Abbott, and Benjamin Byron Davis. The two releases are scheduled to arrive on the market on October 20.

Blu-ray Sales: August 9-15: Project Hail Mary Fends Off Mars Attacks! in First Week

For the week that ended on August 15th, Alliance Entertainment's Project Hail Mary topped the Blu-ray-only, overall packaged media and 4K UHD charts in its debut. Second place on the Blu-ray-only chart went to Warner Bros. Home Entertainment's Mars Attacks!, which was released on 4K UHD this week, while third place went to Warner's own Mortal Kombat II in its third week.

This Week on Blu-ray: August 24-30

For the week of August 24th, Walt Disney Home Entertainment will release Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Grogu on Blu-ray and 4K UHD. Other new releases include Disclosure Day from Universal Pictures Home Entertainment, The Sheep Detectives from Alliance Entertainment, Abraham's Boys: A Dracula Story from Shudder, Carolina Caroline from Magnolia Home Entertainment, Reacher: Season Three from Paramount Home Media Distribution, Father Mother Sister Brother from MUBI, Power Ballad from Lionsgate Home Entertainment, The Breadwinner from Sony Pictures Home Entertainment and The Audacity: Season 1 from AMC Studios.

The Rock 30th Anniversary 4K Blu-ray

StudioCanal to Release SteelBook Editions of Hayao Miyazaki Films

StudioCanal will release SteelBook Editions of four films directed by Hayao Miyazaki:Ponyo (2008), My Neighbour Totoro (1988), Howl's Moving Castle (2004), and Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind (1984). The four SteelBooks will be available for purchase in the United Kingdom on November 25th.

Raro Set to Release Love in the City

Raro Video U.S. have confirmed that they are preparing a Blu-ray release of L'amore in città a.k.a Love in the City (1953), an anthology film composed of six segments directed by Michelangelo Antonioni, Federico Fellini, Dino Risi, Carlo Lizani, Francesco Maselli and Cezare Zavattini, and Alberto Lattuada. The release is expected to arrive on the U.S. market in early 2014.

A&E to Produce Remake of French TV Series The Returned

A+E Studios and FremantleMedia North America will produce an English-language remake of the hit French supernatural mini-series Les Revenants a.k.a The Returned (2012). Bates Motel executive producer and co-writer Carlton Cuse is expected to be the man who will adapt the French drama for U.S. viewers.

Arrow Video Announces December Titles

British distributors Arrow Video have officially announced that they will add three titles to their Blu-ray catalog in December: Dario Argento's Tenebrae (1982), John Carpenter's Big Trouble in Little China (1986), and Robert Altman's The Long Goodbye (1973). Arrow Video will also release on DVD Paul Bartel's Lust in the Dust (1985).

Walt Disney Home Entertainment has officially announced and detailed the Blu-ray release of DisneyToon Studios' Planes, which is set to arrive via 2D and 3D BD/DVD/Digital Copy combo packs later this fall. The high-flying animated adventure features the voice talents of Dane Cook, Stacy Keach, Priyanka Chopra, Cedric the Entertainer, Julia Louis-Dreyfus and John Cleese, and streets on November 19th.

Denmark has selected director Thomas Vinterberg's drama Jagten a.k.a The Hunt to represent it at the 86th Academy Awards. The film stars Mads Mikkelsen, Thomas Bo Larsen and Annika Wedderkopp. Last year, The Hunt won Best Actor Award (Mads Mikkelsen), Vulcain Prize for the Technical Artist (Charlotte Bruus Christensen), and the Prize of the Ecumenical Jury at the Cannes Film Festival.

For the week that ended on September 22nd, Paramount Home Media Entertainment scored the top figures on the Blu-ray and overall package media charts for the second week in a row with its World War Z. This loose adaptation of Max Brooks' cult zombie novel proved one of the biggest surprises of the summer; after generating underwhelming buzz, the film found both critical and commercial success at the box-office.

Warner confirmed the first season will be available in early November 2013. Details about a special October 11th celebration in New York were also shared, as well as instructions on how to earn a free ticket to the event.

The film premiered in Un Certain Regard at the 2013 Cannes Film Festival and will receive its US premiere as an official selection of the New York Film Festival.
