This Week on Blu-ray: April 6-12

For the week of April 6th, Alliance Entertainment will release Mercy (2026) on Blu-ray and 4K UHD. New releases on Blu-ray include V/H/S/Halloween from Shudder, Sanatorium Under the Sign of the Hourglass from KimStim, Peacock (2024) from Oscilloscope Laboratories, The Mysterious Gaze of the Flamingo from Altered Innocence and I Was a Stranger from Angel Studios. Catalog titles include Blu-rays for the Wandering Ginza Butterfly Collection (1972) from Arrow Video, Randy and the Mob from Lightyear Entertainment and Over the Garden Wall: The Complete Series (2014) from Warner Bros. Home Entertainment, new Blu-ray editions of The Thief of Bagdad (1924) and The Stewardesses from Kino Lorber and a 4K UHD upgrade for Gilda from the Criterion Collection.

British label Shameless Entertainment has informed us that it is preparing a 4K Blu-ray release of Dario Argento's cult film Four Flies on Grey Velvet (1971), starring Mimsy Farmer, Jean-Pierre Marielle, Bud Spencer, Aldo Bufi Landi, and Michael Brandon. The release is expected to arrive on the market this summer.

For the week of March 17th, Warner Bros. Home Entertainment will release The Penguin: The Complete First Season (2024) on Blu-ray and 4K UHD. Other new releases include Moana 2 from Walt Disney Home Entertainment, Wolf Man from Universal Pictures Home Entertainment, Tulsa King: Season Two (2024) from Paramount Home Media Distribution and Devils Stay from Well Go USA. Catalog titles include A Woman of Paris on Blu-ray from the Criterion Collection and 4K UHD upgrades for Tommy (1975) and Forbidden World from Shout Factory, Thirst (1979) and Harlequin from Indicator, Godzilla vs. Biollante from Criterion, The General's Daughter from Kino Lorber and Deep Blue Sea from Arrow Video.

Blu-ray Sales: March 2-8: Gladiator II is Number I in Debut

For the week that ended on March 8th, Paramount Home Media Distribution's Gladiator II topped both the Blu-ray-only and overall packaged media charts in its first week, while second and third place on the Blu-ray-only chart went to Universal Pictures Home Entertainment's Wicked (2024) in its fifth week and Warner Bros. Home Entertainment's new release, Red One, with fellow new releases Kraven the Hunter from Sony Pictures Home Entertainment and Den of Thieves 2: Pantera from Lionsgate Home Entertainment rounding out the top five Blu-rays.
