Kino Lorber have detailed their upcoming 4K Blu-ray release of Jared Hess' Nacho Libre (2006), starring Jack Black, Héctor Jiménez, Ana de la Reguera, Richard Montoya, and Darius Rose. The release is scheduled to arrive on the market on December 9.
Description: Comedy dynamo Jack Black (Kung Fu Panda, Tropic Thunder) stars as the sweet-natured Ignacio, a disrespected cook at a Mexican monastery that can barely afford to feed the orphans who live there. Inspired by a local wrestling hero, he decides to moonlight as the not-so-famous Luchador "Nacho Libre" to earn money for the monastery—not to mention the admiration of his forbidden love, the beautiful nun Sister Encarnación (Ana de la Reguera, Cowboys & Aliens). Written by Mike White (School of Rock, TV's The White Lotus) and directed by Jared Hess (Napoleon Dynamite, Gentlemen Broncos), Nacho Libre serves up "endearingly ridiculous" (The New York Times) fun from start to finish! With music from Danny Elfman (Beetlejuice), Beck, Los Lobos, Jack Black and more!
