Warner Archive, in association with Hammer Films, is preparing 4K Blu-ray and Blu-ray releases of Terence Fisher's Dracula (1958), starring Peter Cushing, Christopher Lee, Michael Gough, Melissa Stribling, and Carol Marsh. The releases are scheduled to arrive on the market on October 27.

Universal Pictures Home Entertainment has officially announced that it will release on 4K Blu-ray and Blu-ray Will Gluck's romantic dramedy One Night Only (2026), starring Monica Barbaro, Callum Turner, Bobby Cannavale, Molly Ringwald, and LeVar Burton. The two releases are scheduled to arrive on the market on October 20.

Severin Films has dated and detailed its upcoming Limited Edition 4K Blu-ray release of Just Jaeckin's Gwendoline (1984), starring Tawny Kitaen, Brent Huff, Zabou Breitman, Bernadette Lafont, and Jean Rougerie. The release is scheduled to arrive on the market on November 24.

For the week of August 31st, Sony Pictures Home Entertainment will release 28 Days Later on 4K UHD. New releases include the anime series Black Butler: Emerald Witch Arc (2025) from Crunchyroll and Dry Leaf from Cinema Guild. Catalog titles on Blu-ray include Ten Women in Black and The Magnificent Cuckold from Radiance Films, while catalog titles on 4K UHD include The Hot Spot from Radiance and Tekkonkinkreet from Shout Factory and GKIDS.

Sony Computer Entertainment has announced that, on April 1, a new firmware version for the PS3, version 3.21, will be available for download and install. No new features are added. To the contrary, the firmware upgrade disables the "Install Other OS" feature that was available on the "fat" PS3 consoles. The removal of Linux support is "due to security concerns," according to SCE.

Zach Passero, director of the 2008 horror movie Wicked Lake, has revealed to Dread Central that this movie will be released on Blu-ray by Shriek Show/Media Blasters on June 29. The BD edition will include the theatrical cut as well as the director's cut (titled Wicked, Wicked Lake) as a bonus DVD that will feature an introduction by the filmmaker.

Shout! Factory has revealed the edition details for the Blu-ray edition of Rock 'N' Roll High School, which will debut on May 11 and will thus be the first BD release of a title from the Roger Corman Library. The 1979 cult film takes place at "the wildest, most rockin' high school around." Its new principal tries to impose order until the Ramones come in to save the day!

During the recent Avatar press event, James Cameron stated that about 50% of Avatar presales are for the Blu-ray version, a much higher percentage than the 15% usually seen on other titles. The filmmaker said that the public is "definitely excited about the Blu-ray release and pre-selecting for the most premium version in which they can see Avatar in a home environment."

According to information published on issue #33 of the official Stargate magazine, 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment will release Stargate Universe 1.5 on Blu-ray on July 13. This half-season set will include episodes 11 through 20 of the first season of this sci-fi show (episodes 1-10 are already available in Stargate Universe 1.0). Edition details are still pending.

Lionsgate Home Entertainment has officially announced and detailed Francis Ford Coppola's Tetro, which will be released on Blu-ray on May 4, a month later than initially reported. Tetro, a drama about the reunion of two long-lost brothers, set in Buenos Aires, marks the first original screenplay for Coppola since 1974.

An early announcement to retailers indicates that MGM will release two catalog titles on May 11: Hang 'Em High, a 1968 western starring Clint Eastwood; and The Man in the Iron Mask, the 1998 retelling of the Alexandre Dumas novel with an all-star cast. As with other recent BD titles from the studio, a DVD copy of the movie will also be included.

Warner Home Video has announced that on June 1 it will re-release the HBO mini-series Band of Brothers, bundled with a sampler BD for The Pacific, the WWII mini-series currently being aired. There is no information regarding the length of the sampler, or the exact release date of the full series (according to the studio, it won't be before the second half of the year).

The Twilight Saga: New Moon was the top-selling title on Blu-ray during the week ended March 21, according to Nielsen VideoScan. Despite the "female-driven nature of the franchise" (to quote Summit's home entertainment president Steve Nickerson), 17% of the 4 million-plus units sold of New Moon came from the BD edition, while the first installment, Twilight, had only managed a 3% BD share last year, even though retailer exclusives probably played a role then as well.

This PG-rated action/comedy movie stars Jackie Chan as an international spy who has to babysit his neighbor's children and winds up having to fight off secret agents after one of the kids inadvertently downloads a secret code.

German site Bluray-disc.de has received an advance review copy of Minority Report (which is distributed in Europe by 20th Century Fox) to find that it opens with a short teaser for the upcoming Blu-ray edition of the Alien Anthology. After the extended tagline "In space no one can hear you scream but on Blu-ray they can," it is revealed that the Anthology will consist of the movies Alien, Aliens, Alien 3 and Alien Resurrection.

Blockbuster Inc. scored a coup today by announcing a new agreement with Warner Bros. to provide immediate availability of DVD and Blu-ray titles from that studio. Thus, The Blind Side will be available on March 23, in Blockbuster stores and by-mail. And on March 30, Blockbuster will have Sherlock Holmes available for immediate release.

The packaging consists of a metallic-looking outer slipcase holding four cardboard and plastic Digipak-style cases (one for each season) plus the existing BD case packaging for The Plan.
