Gwendoline Limited Edition 4K Blu-ray

Severin Films has dated and detailed its upcoming Limited Edition 4K Blu-ray release of Just Jaeckin's Gwendoline (1984), starring Tawny Kitaen, Brent Huff, Zabou Breitman, Bernadette Lafont, and Jean Rougerie. The release is scheduled to arrive on the market on November 24.

Blu-ray Sales: August 16-22: Project Hail Mary Grabs Achilles' Heel in Week Two

For the week that ended on August 22nd, Alliance Entertainment's Project Hail Mary topped the Blu-ray-only, overall packaged media and 4K UHD charts for the second week in a row. Second place went to Troy, which was released on remastered Blu-ray and 4K UHD by Arrow Video, while third place on the Blu-ray-only chart went to Universal Pictures Home Entertainment's Obsession (2025).

This Week on Blu-ray: August 31-September 6

For the week of August 31st, Sony Pictures Home Entertainment will release 28 Days Later on 4K UHD. New releases include the anime series Black Butler: Emerald Witch Arc (2025) from Crunchyroll and Dry Leaf from Cinema Guild. Catalog titles on Blu-ray include Ten Women in Black and The Magnificent Cuckold from Radiance Films, while catalog titles on 4K UHD include The Hot Spot from Radiance and Tekkonkinkreet from Shout Factory and GKIDS.

Ice Cream Man 4K Blu-ray

Alliance Entertainment is preparing 4K Blu-ray and Blu-ray releases of Eli Roth's Ice Cream Man (2026), starring Ari Millen, Charlie Zeltzer, Shiloh O'Reilly, Sarah Abbott, and Benjamin Byron Davis. The two releases are scheduled to arrive on the market on October 20.

The Rock 30th Anniversary 4K Blu-ray

Magnolia Pictures will release on Blu-ray director Kevin Macdonald's (Touching the Void, The Last King of Scotland) Marley (2012). Executive produced by Ziggy Marley and Chris Blackwell, the film had its world premiere at the Berlin International Film Festival earlier this year. The preliminary release date set by the studio is August 7th.

Independent British distributors Artificial Eye will release on Blu-ray acclaimed Finnish director Aki Kaurismaki's (Leningrad Cowboys, Lights in the Dusk) Le Havre (2011), starring André Wilms, Blondin Miguel and Jean-Pierre Darroussin. The preliminary release date set by the distributors is July 9th.

Warriors of the Rainbow: Seediq Bale Gets UK Release Date

Studio Canal have revealed that they are preparing a Blu-ray release of director Wei Te-Sheng's (Cape No. 7) epic film Warriors of the Rainbow: Seediq Bale (2011), starring Masanobu Ando, Umin Boya and Chi-Wei Cheng. Last year, the film was nominated for the prestigious Golden Lion Award at the Venice Film Festival. Street date is July 15th.

RLJ Arranges to Acquire Acorn Media Group and Image Entertainment

Earlier today, RLJ Companies' Chairman Robert L. Johnson announced that RLJ Acquisition, Inc., has begun the procedures necessary to acquire both Image Entertainment as well as the Acorn Media Group. After the agreements take place, the new corporate entity will call itself RLJ Entertainment.

This promotional discount applies to the Blu-ray 3D/Blu-ray/DVD/Digital Copy combo pack of director Andrew Stanton's sci-fi-adventure and will last until April 5th.

The second installment in the popular action-horror franchise finds vampire slayer Blade (Wesley Snipes, Brooklyn's Finest) relocated to Europe in order to eradicate a disturbingly mutated vampire colony. French distributors Potemkine have revealed that they are preparing a Blu-ray release of Polish-born French director Malgorzata Szumowska's Elles (2011), starring Juliette Binoche, Anaïs Demoustier, Joanna Kulig, and Andrzej Chyra. Last year, the film had its premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival. The preliminary release date set by Potemkine is June 5th.

The UK branch of Paramount Pictures has revealed that it is preparing for Blu-ray release director Jon Amiel's action adventure film The Core (2003), starring Aaron Eckhart, Hilary Swank and Delroy Lindo. Warner Brothers Acquires Rights to Films From the Samuel Goldwyn Library

Warner Brothers announced that it has acquired the rights to some 70 titles from the Samuel Goldwyn Films library. The deal covers practically all of the films produced by Samuel Goldwyn, including films that have never before been released on the home video market.

Disney's newest reimagining of The Muppets scored the highest spot on Blu-ray and overall package media sales for the week ending on March 25th, garnering 52% of sales totals from the HD format. The family-friendly comedy enjoyed a healthy box office run - it grossed over $88 million on top of a projected $45 million budget - and its strong small-screen debut suggests a promising future in the home media market.
