Extended First Look Trailer for Cloud Atlas

Apple and Warner Bros have revealed the extended first-look trailer for Cloud Atlas. The Wachowski Siblings (The Matrix) and Tom Tykwer (Run Lola Run) have joined forces for this visionary science-fiction drama, which adapts David Mitchell's award-winning novel of the same name.

This ambitious, multi-part epic takes the form of six stories read by six people throughout various continents and time periods on Earth. As in the novel, the Wachowskis and Tykwer draw thematic and narrative parallels between these disparate segments - which span from the Chatham Islands in 1850 to a futuristic, post-apocalyptic Hawaii - ultimately suggesting connections that the individual protagonists would not dare suspect.

The film contains an impressive ensemble cast that includes Jim Sturgess (The Way Back), Hugo Weaving (The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert), Ben Whishaw (The Hour), Jim Broadbent (Topsy-Turvy), James D'Arcy (Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World), Doona Bae (The Host), Keith David (The Thing), Hugh Grant (About a Boy), Susan Sarandon (Bull Durham), Halle Berry (Monster's Ball), and Tom Hanks (Apollo 13).

Cloud Atlas' scheduled U.S. release date is October 26th.
