Ice Cream Man 4K Blu-ray

Alliance Entertainment is preparing 4K Blu-ray and Blu-ray releases of Eli Roth's Ice Cream Man (2026), starring Ari Millen, Charlie Zeltzer, Shiloh O'Reilly, Sarah Abbott, and Benjamin Byron Davis. The two releases are scheduled to arrive on the market on October 20.

Blu-ray Sales: August 9-15: Project Hail Mary Fends Off Mars Attacks! in First Week

For the week that ended on August 15th, Alliance Entertainment's Project Hail Mary topped the Blu-ray-only, overall packaged media and 4K UHD charts in its debut. Second place on the Blu-ray-only chart went to Warner Bros. Home Entertainment's Mars Attacks!, which was released on 4K UHD this week, while third place went to Warner's own Mortal Kombat II in its third week.

This Week on Blu-ray: August 24-30

For the week of August 24th, Walt Disney Home Entertainment will release Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Grogu on Blu-ray and 4K UHD. Other new releases include Disclosure Day from Universal Pictures Home Entertainment, The Sheep Detectives from Alliance Entertainment, Abraham's Boys: A Dracula Story from Shudder, Carolina Caroline from Magnolia Home Entertainment, Reacher: Season Three from Paramount Home Media Distribution, Father Mother Sister Brother from MUBI, Power Ballad from Lionsgate Home Entertainment, The Breadwinner from Sony Pictures Home Entertainment and The Audacity: Season 1 from AMC Studios.

The Rock 30th Anniversary 4K Blu-ray

Walt Disney Home Entertainment will release The Little Mermaid II: Return to the Sea (2000) and The Little Mermaid: Ariel's Beginning (2008) via a 3-disc 2-Movie Collection Blu-ray/DVD combo pack. The direct-to-video sequel and prequel make their high definition debut on November 19th. The original The Little Mermaid (1989) streets six weeks earlier, on October 1st.

Warner Bros. and J.K. Rowling to Expand Harry Potter-verse

Earlier today, Warner Bros. announced a new partnership with "Harry Potter" author J.K. Rowling involving "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them," Rowling's 2001 Harry Potter companion book. It is planned as the first picture in a new film series, and will be written by Rowling herself. Set in the wizarding world, the story will feature magical creatures and characters, some of which will be familiar to Potter fans.

Blu-ray Sales, Sept. 2-8: Now You See Me Transports to the Top

For the week that ended on September 8th, Lionsgate and Summit Home Entertainment's Now You See Me scored the top figures on the Blu-ray and overall package media charts. A sleeper hit of the 2013 summer movie slate, Now You See Me had a Metacritic rating of 50% and grossed over $317 million worldwide off its $75 million budget.

Warner Bros. Home Entertainment has officially announced the Blu-ray/DVD/UltraViolet combo pack release of director James Wan's The Conjuring, starring Vera Farmiga, Patrick Wilson, Ron Livingston and Lili Taylor. The well-received horror film was a surprise success at the box office earlier this summer, thanks to strong reviews and enthusiastic word of mouth. The Conjuring arrives on Blu-ray in time for Halloween, on October 22nd.

FUNimation has revealed a number of details about its Blu-ray/DVD combo pack release of Akira. The new 25th Anniversary Edition not only includes a variety of bonus content, it features original Japanese audio and both the Kodansha/Streamline and Pioneer/Animaze English dubs, giving fans the ability to choose the audio track "they have the deepest connection with." Akira returns to Blu-ray on November 12th.
