Blu-ray Sales: August 9-15: Project Hail Mary Fends Off Mars Attacks! in First Week

For the week that ended on August 15th, Alliance Entertainment's Project Hail Mary topped the Blu-ray-only, overall packaged media and 4K UHD charts in its debut. Second place on the Blu-ray-only chart went to Warner Bros. Home Entertainment's Mars Attacks!, which was released on 4K UHD this week, while third place went to Warner's own Mortal Kombat II in its third week.

This Week on Blu-ray: August 24-30

For the week of August 24th, Walt Disney Home Entertainment will release Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Grogu on Blu-ray and 4K UHD. Other new releases include Disclosure Day from Universal Pictures Home Entertainment, The Sheep Detectives from Alliance Entertainment, Abraham's Boys: A Dracula Story from Shudder, Carolina Caroline from Magnolia Home Entertainment, Reacher: Season Three from Paramount Home Media Distribution, Father Mother Sister Brother from MUBI, Power Ballad from Lionsgate Home Entertainment, The Breadwinner from Sony Pictures Home Entertainment and The Audacity: Season 1 from AMC Studios.

The Rock 30th Anniversary 4K Blu-ray

U.S. label Code Red has dated its upcoming Blu-ray release of director Roger Vadim's film The Hot Touch (1981), starring Wayne Rogers, Marie-France Pisier, Lloyd Bochner, Samantha Eggar, Melvyn Douglas, and Patrick Macnee. For the week that ended on August 19th, Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment's Alien: Covenant debuted at the top of the Blu-ray-only and overall package-media sales rankings. Director Ridley Scott's Alien sequel AND Prometheus prequel struggled to connect with American audiences this past May, grossing $74 million domestically on top of its estimated $97-million production budget.
