Blu-ray Sales: August 2-8: Now Obsession Overtakes Mortal Kombat and Micahel

For the week that ended on August 8th, Universal Pictures Home Entertainment's Obsession (2025) topped the Blu-ray-only and 4K UHD charts for the first time in its forth week, forcing Warner Bros. Home Entertainment's Mortal Kombat II—still the week's top disc seller—down to second place in its second week, while third place went to Lionsgate Home Entertainment's Michael (2026), which came back into the top three in its fourth week.

This Week on Blu-ray: August 17-23

For the week of August 17th, Music Box Films will release The Stranger (2025) on Blu-ray. Other new releases include the anime series Clevatess: Season 1 (2025) from Crunchyroll and both Jinsei and Longing for Innocence from Kino Lorber. Catalog titles include Blu-rays from the Warner Archive Collection and 4K UHD releases for MacArthur, The Island (1980), Daylight (1996), Repo Men and Flight (2012) from Kino, Popeye from Paramount Home Media Distribution and Troy from Arrow Video.

Criterion Announces November Releases

The Criterion Collection has announced its November batch of releases. They are: Wild at Heart (1990), The Right Stuff (1983), Shoot the Piano Player (1960), Marie Antoinette (2006), KPop Demon Hunters (2025), Blue Heron (2025), Shadows of Forgotten Ancestors (1965), and Harold and Maude (1971).

Warner Archive has announced its September and October batches of releases. They are: Ryan's Daughter (1970), Maverick: The Complete Series (1957-1962), Boys Town (1938), Please Don't Eat the Daisies (1960), The Great Waltz (1938), Marked Woman (1937), Dear Heart (1964), Bundle of Joy (1956), Skyscraper Souls (1932), and The Quick Draw McGraw Show: The Complete Series (1959-1961).
