Ice Cream Man 4K Blu-ray

Alliance Entertainment is preparing 4K Blu-ray and Blu-ray releases of Eli Roth's Ice Cream Man (2026), starring Ari Millen, Charlie Zeltzer, Shiloh O'Reilly, Sarah Abbott, and Benjamin Byron Davis. The two releases are scheduled to arrive on the market on October 20.

Blu-ray Sales: August 9-15: Project Hail Mary Fends Off Mars Attacks! in First Week

For the week that ended on August 15th, Alliance Entertainment's Project Hail Mary topped the Blu-ray-only, overall packaged media and 4K UHD charts in its debut. Second place on the Blu-ray-only chart went to Warner Bros. Home Entertainment's Mars Attacks!, which was released on 4K UHD this week, while third place went to Warner's own Mortal Kombat II in its third week.

This Week on Blu-ray: August 24-30

For the week of August 24th, Walt Disney Home Entertainment will release Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Grogu on Blu-ray and 4K UHD. Other new releases include Disclosure Day from Universal Pictures Home Entertainment, The Sheep Detectives from Alliance Entertainment, Abraham's Boys: A Dracula Story from Shudder, Carolina Caroline from Magnolia Home Entertainment, Reacher: Season Three from Paramount Home Media Distribution, Father Mother Sister Brother from MUBI, Power Ballad from Lionsgate Home Entertainment, The Breadwinner from Sony Pictures Home Entertainment and The Audacity: Season 1 from AMC Studios.

The Rock 30th Anniversary 4K Blu-ray

Lost Orson Welles Film Found in Italy

A long-lost silent film directed by Orson Welles in 1938 has turned up in a warehouse in Italy. A 35mm nitrate work print for Too Much Johnson, starring Joseph Cotton and Orson Welles, was discovered earlier this year by the staff of Cinemazero in Pordenone, an arthouse cinema in north-east Italy.

Anime publisher Acttil and animation studio Trigger Inc. are bringing Little Witch Academia to Blu-ray in Collector's Edition packaging. The set includes the original 26-minute anime, an hour-long behind-the-scenes documentary, a 112-page art book and an original soundtrack CD. Director You Yoshinari's anime short arrives on Blu-ray this September.

Blu-ray Sales, July 29-August 4: G.I. Joe Assaults Home Media

For the week that ended on August 4th, Paramount Pictures topped both the Blu-ray-only and overall home media sales charts with its release of G.I. Joe: Retaliation. The sequel to 2009's G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra, this action blockbuster handily beat out all other package media options, thus continuing the success it had during its theatrical run last March.

Blu-ray Continues to Grow, Sales Up 15%

According to a new report released by The Digital Entertainment Group (DEG), during the first half of the year revenue generated from sales of Blu-ray discs is up 15% compared to the same period last year. Overall consumer spending on home entertainment also grew more than 2% to $8.6B.

The film stars András Gyémánt, László Gyémánt, and Gyöngyvér Bognár.
