Ice Cream Man 4K Blu-ray

Alliance Entertainment is preparing 4K Blu-ray and Blu-ray releases of Eli Roth's Ice Cream Man (2026), starring Ari Millen, Charlie Zeltzer, Shiloh O'Reilly, Sarah Abbott, and Benjamin Byron Davis. The two releases are scheduled to arrive on the market on October 20.

Blu-ray Sales: August 9-15: Project Hail Mary Fends Off Mars Attacks! in First Week

For the week that ended on August 15th, Alliance Entertainment's Project Hail Mary topped the Blu-ray-only, overall packaged media and 4K UHD charts in its debut. Second place on the Blu-ray-only chart went to Warner Bros. Home Entertainment's Mars Attacks!, which was released on 4K UHD this week, while third place went to Warner's own Mortal Kombat II in its third week.

This Week on Blu-ray: August 24-30

For the week of August 24th, Walt Disney Home Entertainment will release Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Grogu on Blu-ray and 4K UHD. Other new releases include Disclosure Day from Universal Pictures Home Entertainment, The Sheep Detectives from Alliance Entertainment, Abraham's Boys: A Dracula Story from Shudder, Carolina Caroline from Magnolia Home Entertainment, Reacher: Season Three from Paramount Home Media Distribution, Father Mother Sister Brother from MUBI, Power Ballad from Lionsgate Home Entertainment, The Breadwinner from Sony Pictures Home Entertainment and The Audacity: Season 1 from AMC Studios.

PBS Distribution is bringing Inspector Lewis: Series 7 to Blu-ray. In it, Detective Inspector Lewis (Kevin Whately) and Detective Sergeant Hathaway (Laurence Fox) face three new mysteries inspired by Colin Dexter's Inspector Morse novels. Episodes include "Entry Wounds," "The Lions of Memea" and "Beyond Good and Evil." Series 7 arrives on Blu-ray on November 25th.

Paramount Acquires Richard Linklater's Boyhood, Blu-ray Available for Pre-Order

Paramount Home Media Distribution announced today that it has acquired U.S. home entertainment rights to IFC Films' highly-acclaimed film Boyhood. Written and directed by Richard Linklater, Boyhood was filmed over the course of 12 years with the same cast, and tells the groundbreaking story of growing up as seen through the eyes of a child named Mason. The film stars Ethan Hawke, Patricia Arquette, Lorelei Linklater and Ellar Coltrane as Mason. While an exact street date has yet to be revealed, a Blu-ray release is set to follow and is already available for pre-order on Amazon.

A&E Home Video and Lionsgate Entertainment have announced the Blu-ray release of The Avengers: Season 5 (1967), which stars Diana Rigg as Emma Peel and Patrick Macnee as John Steed. The first season of the classic British television series to be presented in color, Season 5 (along with the UK release of Season 4) represents the show's Blu-ray debut and streets on November 11th.

For the week that ended on August 17th, properties aimed at a primarily YA audience dominated the Blu-ray-only chart. At number one was Summit and Lionsgate Home Entertainment's Divergent. This film adaptation of author Veronica Roth's bestselling YA novel performed solidly in theaters this year, though it lacked the kind of widespread support that the Hunger Games and Twilight franchises found.
