Blu-ray Sales: August 9-15: Project Hail Mary Fends Off Mars Attacks! in First Week

For the week that ended on August 15th, Alliance Entertainment's Project Hail Mary topped the Blu-ray-only, overall packaged media and 4K UHD charts in its debut. Second place on the Blu-ray-only chart went to Warner Bros. Home Entertainment's Mars Attacks!, which was released on 4K UHD this week, while third place went to Warner's own Mortal Kombat II in its third week.

This Week on Blu-ray: August 24-30

For the week of August 24th, Walt Disney Home Entertainment will release Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Grogu on Blu-ray and 4K UHD. Other new releases include Disclosure Day from Universal Pictures Home Entertainment, The Sheep Detectives from Alliance Entertainment, Abraham's Boys: A Dracula Story from Shudder, Carolina Caroline from Magnolia Home Entertainment, Reacher: Season Three from Paramount Home Media Distribution, Father Mother Sister Brother from MUBI, Power Ballad from Lionsgate Home Entertainment, The Breadwinner from Sony Pictures Home Entertainment and The Audacity: Season 1 from AMC Studios.

The Rock 30th Anniversary 4K Blu-ray

Twentieth Century Studios plans to celebrate the 30th anniversary of Michael Bay's The Rock (1996) with a new combo pack release, which is expected to arrive on the market before the end of the year.

20th Century Studios is preparing a combo pack release of Peter Weir's Dead Poets Society (1989), starring Robin Williams, Robert Sean Leonard, Ethan Hawke, Josh Charles, and Gale Hansen. The release is scheduled to arrive on the market on September 29.

Blu-ray Sales, January 30-February 5: Jack Reacher Goes Back to Number One

For the week that ended on February 5th, Paramount Home Media Distribution's Jack Reacher: Never Go Back premiered at the top of the Blu-ray-only and overall package-media sales rankings. A sequel to the 2012 sleeper hit Jack Reacher, this Tom Cruise-starring actioner struggled to connect with critics and audiences, grossing just under $59 million domestically on top of its estimated $60-million production budget.

U.S. label Scorpion Releasing has confined that it is preparing a Blu-ray release of director Juan Luis Buñuel's film Leonor a.k.a. Mistress of the Devil (1975), starring Michel Piccoli, Liv Ullmann, Ornella Muti, Carmen Maura, Antonio Ferrandis, George Rigaud, and Angel del Pozo.
