Blu-ray Sales: April 12-18: Godzilla Minus One, Brian Cohen of Judea: 4K

For the week that ended on April 18th, Toho's Godzilla Minus One rose up and crushed both the Blu-ray-only and 4K UHD charts, while Alliance Entertainment's Mercy (2026) remained in second place in its second week on shelves and Lionsgate Home Entertainment's Greenland 2: Migration remained in third place in its third week. Fourth place went to the Criterion Collection's remastered Blu-ray and 4K UHD releases of Monty Python's Life of Brian.

This Week on Blu-ray: April 27-May 3

For the week of April 27th, Lionsgate Home Entertainment will release Dust Bunny on 4K UHD. Other new releases include Highest 2 Lowest from A24, Grafted from Shudder, Cold Storage from Samuel Goldwyn Films, Great Absence from Film Movement and Plan 75 from KimStim. Catalog titles include Blu-rays from the Warner Archive Collection, Badge 373 from Cinématographe, Something's Gotta Give from Sony Pictures Home Entertainment and 4K UHD releases for Hold that Ghost and Throw Momma from the Train from Kino Lorber, The Grapes of Death and The Living Dead Girl from Indicator, Innerspace and Soldier (1998) from Arrow Video and John Singleton's Hood Trilogy (1991-2001) from the Criterion Collection.

Hoppers 4K Blu-ray

Disney will release on 4K Blu-ray and Blu-ray Daniel Chong's Hoppers (2026), featuring the voices of Piper Curda, Bobby Moynihan, Jon Hamm, Meryl Streep, and Dave Franco. The two releases are scheduled to arrive on the market on June 2.

RLJ Entertainment beings PG: Psycho Goreman and the horror remake Castle Freak (2020) as well as the British miniseries Des, starring David Tennant. Other new releases this week include Don't Tell a Soul and from Lionsgate Home Entertainment, and Money Plane, from Quiver Films.

For the week that ended on March 6th, Universal Pictures Home Entertainment's The Croods: A New Age again topped both the Blu-ray-only and overall packaged media charts, beating the other major release this week, Sony Pictures Home Entertainment's Monster Hunter. The DreamWorks animated sequel, in which the prehistoric family come up against the Bettermans, an apparently more evolved family, was theatrically released over the Thanksgiving holiday and became one of the few bright spots of 2020, so far making over $157 million worldwide.
