Note: This film is available as part of Al Adamson: The Masterpiece Collection.
Disc Eight of The Masterpiece Collection offers a double feature of then trendy "stewardess" movies, with Naughty Stewardesses
plying pretty traditional Adamson exploitation content, and with Blazing Stewardesses trying (and probably failing) to inject more nutty
comedy into the mix.
Naughty Stewardesses is presented on Blu-ray courtesy of Severin Films with an AVC encoded 1080p transfer in 1.84:1. This is one of the better, more consistent, looking transfers in this set, but like many other presentations, there's the same kind of speckling, flecks and other minor damage on display. Stock footage of planes is especially rough looking. The palette is rather nicely suffused throughout, but there are pretty noticeable downturns in quality in terms of both palette, clarity and grain resolution at moments like circa 37:26, during one of the soft porn sequences, and later at around 1:28:20, which leads me to believe sections of this film may have been excised at some point and needed to be sourced from secondary elements.
Naughty Stewardesses features a DTS-HD Master Audio 2.0 Mono mix that capably supports the kind of fun girl group rock theme and other cues, as well as the dialogue, which admittedly can sound a bit boxy at times. There's a huge pop at circa 1:28:20, right when the video takes a precipitous turn for the worse (see above), which enforces my hunch that some kind of editing was made at some point and that things had to be recomposited as a result.
Naughty Stewardesses is pretty typical Adamson sexploitation fare, and it's certainly scenic (in any number of ways). Aside from a few passing issues, this presentation offers more consistent video and audio quality than some of the other films in this set, and both the Sherman commentary and Fly Girls featurette are very interesting.
