Ice Cream Man 4K Blu-ray

Alliance Entertainment is preparing 4K Blu-ray and Blu-ray releases of Eli Roth's Ice Cream Man (2026), starring Ari Millen, Charlie Zeltzer, Shiloh O'Reilly, Sarah Abbott, and Benjamin Byron Davis. The two releases are scheduled to arrive on the market on October 20.

Blu-ray Sales: August 9-15: Project Hail Mary Fends Off Mars Attacks! in First Week

For the week that ended on August 15th, Alliance Entertainment's Project Hail Mary topped the Blu-ray-only, overall packaged media and 4K UHD charts in its debut. Second place on the Blu-ray-only chart went to Warner Bros. Home Entertainment's Mars Attacks!, which was released on 4K UHD this week, while third place went to Warner's own Mortal Kombat II in its third week.

This Week on Blu-ray: August 24-30

For the week of August 24th, Walt Disney Home Entertainment will release Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Grogu on Blu-ray and 4K UHD. Other new releases include Disclosure Day from Universal Pictures Home Entertainment, The Sheep Detectives from Alliance Entertainment, Abraham's Boys: A Dracula Story from Shudder, Carolina Caroline from Magnolia Home Entertainment, Reacher: Season Three from Paramount Home Media Distribution, Father Mother Sister Brother from MUBI, Power Ballad from Lionsgate Home Entertainment, The Breadwinner from Sony Pictures Home Entertainment and The Audacity: Season 1 from AMC Studios.

The Rock 30th Anniversary 4K Blu-ray

Twentieth Century Studios plans to celebrate the 30th anniversary of Michael Bay's The Rock (1996) with a new combo pack release, which is expected to arrive on the market before the end of the year.

Dead Poets Society 4K Blu-ray

20th Century Studios is preparing a combo pack release of Peter Weir's Dead Poets Society (1989), starring Robin Williams, Robert Sean Leonard, Ethan Hawke, Josh Charles, and Gale Hansen. The release is scheduled to arrive on the market on September 29.

Black Friday, Deals Tool and Price Tracking

The last couple of years Black Friday has been extended to a longer deals period called "Black Friday Week" (starts on Monday 25th) and ends with Cyber Monday (first Monday after Thanksgiving, December 2nd). This means that you should typically see a lot of great price drops the first day of Black Friday Week, Monday 25th, then more price drops during the week and then more great price drops on Black Friday and then some additional price drops on Cyber Monday.

For the week of November 5th, New Line and Warner Home Entertainment are bringing the extended version of The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey to Blu-ray. Other titles include the sixth season of Mad Men, White House Down, Rob Epstein and Jeffrey Friedman's Lovelace biopic, Brian De Palma's Passion, The Right Stuff, and the James Dean: Ultimate Collector's Edition set.

Drafthouse Films and Cinedigm have acquired the North American distribution rights to Allison Berg and Frank Keraudre's documentary film The Dog (2013). Earlier this year, the film had its North American premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival.

The Darjeeling Limited Blu-ray

Cinedigm has acquired the North American distribution rights to Easy Money: Hard To Kill and Easy Money: Life Deluxe, both based on the novels by Swedish criminal defense lawyer and writer Jens Lapidus. The distributor plans theatrical and home video releases in 2014.

Synapse Acquires Rights to Dario Argento's Suspiria

Synapse Films has announced that it has acquired the U.S. home video rights to Italian director Dario Argento's cult film Suspiria (1977), starring Jessica Harper, Stefania Casini, Flavio Bucci, Barbara Magnolfi, and Alida Valli. Synapse Films has also confirmed that it will work closely with Technicolor Rome and Technicolor Los Angeles to create an all-new high-definition 2K scan from the original negative for a possible 2014-15 video release.
