Blu-ray Sales: August 9-15: Project Hail Mary Fends Off Mars Attacks! in First Week

For the week that ended on August 15th, Alliance Entertainment's Project Hail Mary topped the Blu-ray-only, overall packaged media and 4K UHD charts in its debut. Second place on the Blu-ray-only chart went to Warner Bros. Home Entertainment's Mars Attacks!, which was released on 4K UHD this week, while third place went to Warner's own Mortal Kombat II in its third week.

This Week on Blu-ray: August 24-30

For the week of August 24th, Walt Disney Home Entertainment will release Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Grogu on Blu-ray and 4K UHD. Other new releases include Disclosure Day from Universal Pictures Home Entertainment, The Sheep Detectives from Alliance Entertainment, Abraham's Boys: A Dracula Story from Shudder, Carolina Caroline from Magnolia Home Entertainment, Reacher: Season Three from Paramount Home Media Distribution, Father Mother Sister Brother from MUBI, Power Ballad from Lionsgate Home Entertainment, The Breadwinner from Sony Pictures Home Entertainment and The Audacity: Season 1 from AMC Studios.

The Rock 30th Anniversary 4K Blu-ray

For the week that ended on August 14th, Warner Home Entertainment's Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice took at the top spot on the Blu-ray-only and overall package-media lists. This year's controversial sequel to the 2013 superhero picture Man of Steel, Dawn of Justice managed to find commercial success despite heavy critical pushback, grossing over $872 million worldwide on top of its estimated $250-million production budget.

Sony Pictures Association and WWE Studios debuted today the brand new teaser trailer for Surf's Up 2: WaveMania (2017), the animated sequel to Surf's Up, the 2007 Academy Award-nominated animated comedy about surfing penguins. The film will be released on Blu-ray by Sony Pictures Home Entertainment in early 2017.
