Blu-ray Sales: August 9-15: Project Hail Mary Fends Off Mars Attacks! in First Week

For the week that ended on August 15th, Alliance Entertainment's Project Hail Mary topped the Blu-ray-only, overall packaged media and 4K UHD charts in its debut. Second place on the Blu-ray-only chart went to Warner Bros. Home Entertainment's Mars Attacks!, which was released on 4K UHD this week, while third place went to Warner's own Mortal Kombat II in its third week.

This Week on Blu-ray: August 24-30

For the week of August 24th, Walt Disney Home Entertainment will release Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Grogu on Blu-ray and 4K UHD. Other new releases include Disclosure Day from Universal Pictures Home Entertainment, The Sheep Detectives from Alliance Entertainment, Abraham's Boys: A Dracula Story from Shudder, Carolina Caroline from Magnolia Home Entertainment, Reacher: Season Three from Paramount Home Media Distribution, Father Mother Sister Brother from MUBI, Power Ballad from Lionsgate Home Entertainment, The Breadwinner from Sony Pictures Home Entertainment and The Audacity: Season 1 from AMC Studios.

The Rock 30th Anniversary 4K Blu-ray

Twentieth Century Studios plans to celebrate the 30th anniversary of Michael Bay's The Rock (1996) with a new combo pack release, which is expected to arrive on the market before the end of the year.

Beauty and the Beast: New Bonus Clips

Disney has sent us three new bonus feature clips from the Blu-ray release of Beauty and the Beast. The clips explore "the design of Belle's famous golden gown, the dance sequences from the movie, filming at Sherpperton, and some concept images from the design of some of the famous classic characters and the castle." Beauty and the Beast is available now on Blu-ray.

Bambi: New Bonus Clips

Disney has sent us three new bonus feature clips from the Signature Collection Blu-ray release of Bambi. The clips explore "the animation techniques and animation research that went into creating Bambi along with a personal story from Walt on his daughter Diane's reaction to Bambi." The film is now available on Blu-ray.

For the week that ended on May 28th, Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment's Logan debuted at the top of the Blu-ray-only sales ranking. A violent, emotionally wrenching extension of Hugh Jackman's popular Wolverine character, Logan proved a hit with both critics and audiences, scoring a box-office gross of $607 million worldwide on top of its projected $97-million production budget.

Tom Cruise Revelas Official Title for Top Gun Sequel

In an exclusive interview for Access Hollywood, Tom Cruise revealed the title for the upcoming Top Gun sequel. The star also confirmed that Top Gun: Maverick will apparently have the same stylistic appearance as the original film and even the same score by Harold Faltermeyer. The interview was conducted during the London junket for The Mummy, which will open in cinemas and IMAX venues across the United States on June 9.
