Criterion Announces July Releases

The Criterion Collection has announced its July batch of releases. They are: Hud (1963), The Elephant Man (1980), The Crying Game (1992), Cruel Story of Youth (1960), Alice Doesn't Live Here Anymore (1974), The Love That Remains (2025), and I'll Remind You of Everything: The Films of Mike Mills.

Notting Hill 4K Blu-ray

Universal Pictures Home Entertainment will issue a combo pack release of Roger Michell's Notting Hill (1999), starring Julia Roberts, Hugh Grant, Richard McCabe, Rhys Ifans, and James Dreyfus. The release is scheduled to arrive on the market on June 9.

This Week on Blu-ray: April 13-19

For the week of April 13th, the Criterion Collection will release Trouble in Paradise (1932) and Monty Python's Life of Brian on Blu-ray and 4K UHD. New releases include the documentary Becoming Led Zeppelin from Sony Pictures Home Entertainment, the anime releases Mobile Suit Gundam SEED FREEDOM from Crunchyroll and Colorful Stage! The Movie: A Miku Who Can't Sing from Shout Factory and GKIDS, as well as A Traveler's Needs from Cinema Guild and Midsomer Murders: Series 25 (2025) from Acorn Media. Catalog titles include 4K UHD upgrades for Death Ship, UFOria, Remo Williams: The Adventure Begins, Runaway Train and The Phantom (1996) from Kino Lorber and Meet the Fockers from Universal Pictures Home Entertainment.

Blu-ray Sales: November 19-25: Oppenheimer Tops the Charts in Debut

For the week that ended on November 25th, Universal Pictures Home Entertainment's Oppenheimer (2023) took the top spot on the both the Blu-ray-only and overall packaged media charts, with demand for the 4K UHD edition strong enough to cause retail sell outs. Second place on both charts went to Warner Bros. Home Entertainment's Barbie, while Universal Pictures Home Entertainment's The Super Mario Bros. Movie remained in third place on both charts.

Blu-ray Sales: November 12-18: The Equalizer 3 Eliminates the Competition

For the week that ended on November 18th, Sony Pictures Home Entertainment's The Equalizer 3 topped both the Blu-ray-only and overall packaged media charts in its first week, while last week's top seller, Paramount Home Media Distribution's Mission: Impossible - Dead Reckoning Part One slid several places to No. 6 on the Blu-ray-only chart, allowing Universal Pictures Home Entertainment's The Super Mario Bros. Movie to take a place in the top three of both charts. Third place went to another new release, Angel Studios' Sound of Freedom.
