For the week that ended on June 22nd, Warner Bros. Home Entertainment's Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire retained the top spot on both the Blu-ray-only and overall packaged media charts in its second week. Ten years on from Godzilla (2014), the fifth film in the Monsterverse franchise--itself a direct sequel to Godzilla vs. Kong--opened in March 2024 to mixed reviews, but just as Godzilla vs. Kong helped to revive the box office in 2021, three years later, Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire also became a financial success, grossing over $196 million domestically and over $567 million worldwide. This week, Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire had an HD share of 63% and 25% of units sold from the 4K UHD format.

Remaining in second place on both charts in its sixth week is Warner's Dune: Part Two. With 2021 predecessor Dune actually being Dune: Part One, the second part was greenlit as soon as that film proved to be a box office hit in October 2021. Both parts ended up overcoming challenges--Dune: Part One had to contend with a simultaneous release to streaming and theaters, while Dune: Part Two found itself delayed by the SAG-AFTRA and WGA strikes of 2023, ultimately moving from November 2023 to March 2024. However, like its predecessor, Dune: Part Two opened to critical acclaim and box office success, grossing over $282 million domestically and over $711 million worldwide. This week, Dune: Part Two sold 24% as many Blu-ray units as Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire, with an HD share of 67% and 26% of units sold from the 4K UHD format.

Coming in third place on the Blu-ray-only chart (and fourth place on the overall packaged media chart) is Paramount Home Media Distribution's Chinatown. The 1974 mystery starring Jack Nicholson and Faye Dunaway was nominated for 11 Oscars, including Best Picture, and was issued on 4K UHD this week to mark its 50th anniversary, bundled with a previously-released Blu-ray copy of its sequel The Two Jakes (1990). Released as part of Paramount's limited edition Paramount Presents line of Blu-ray and 4K UHD releases, stock already appears to be sold out at many retailers, for the time being. This week, Chinatown sold 15% as many Blu-ray units as Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire, with an HD share of 100% and 100% of units sold from the 4K UHD format.

Elsewhere on the charts, Shout Factory's RoboCop 2 and the Criterion Collection's Bound (1996), both of which were also released on 4K UHD this week came in at Nos. 4 and 10, respectively, on the Blu-ray-only chart, while outside the top ten, Warner and MGM's American Fiction debuted at No. 12.

On the UHD Sellers chart, Shout's RoboCop 2 4K came in at No. 3, Criterion's Bound 4K (1996) came in at No. 5 and Shout's RoboCop 4K (2014) came in at No. 7. Finally, Arrow Video's American Gigolo 4K (1980) came in just outside the top ten at No. 11.
