It's the eve of Halloween in Las Vegas and three enterprising young ladies are throwing a massive 420 gala. But little do they know, they're also going to unleash a freakish gaggle of party-loving nightmare-creatures from beyond.

Note: This film is also available as part of The
Evil Bong Stash Box.
Marijuana continues to be legalized or at least decriminalized in any number of states (including in Oregon, where I live), so the need for a "stash box"
may be a relic of the past, but leave it to the venerable Charles Band to recycle his Evil Bong series with just such a packaging conceit,
which does in fact contain two side "vestibules" to hold any, um, extras, with a center section given over to nine Blu-ray discs. Some of the
Evil Bong series either have had or are about to have standalone releases, but those wanting the "whole joint" (to paraphrase Spike
Lee's use of that term) may want to spring for this admittedly pricey set, if only to also get the stash box itself. The films themselves are a mixed lot,
and some may feel that a generous supply of whatever is stored in those side compartments might need to be consumed in order to enjoy
things appropriately.

Weedjies! Halloweed Night is presented on Blu-ray courtesy of Full Moon Features with an AVC encoded 1080p transfer in 2.35:1. As with virtually all of the other films in this set, I simply couldn't find much if any technical data on the shoot, but this digital capture shows generally excellent detail levels and an appealingly suffused palette. A lot of the party material is rather dimly lit, and sometimes there are other "party hearty" lighting regimens on display, but detail levels are surprisingly secure throughout. The special effects are above average, at least within the Evil Bong universe, and the makeup effects in particular are really rather good.

Weedjies! Halloweed Night features Dolby Digital 2.0 and 5.1 tracks. The surround track on this disc probably offers at least a few more opportunities for opening things up, courtesy of both the party conceit, but also due to the summoning of the titular beasts. Still, consistent engagement of the side and rear channels is really never attained, and the stereo track may be a suitable alternative for many listeners. Dialogue, effects and score are all presented without any problems, within the context of lossy audio. There are no subtitles available on any of the films in this set.

As I (kind of) joked in a previous Evil Bong review, there comes a point when Stockholm Syndrome kicks in, and as such my powers of resistance may have faded considerably by the time I got to Weedjies! Halloweed Night. While I kind of shudder to think of yet another interminable Band franchise just getting started, Weedjies! Halloweed Night actually came off as a bit of a palate cleanser after all of the mishegos with Eebee. Video quality is solid, but as with all of the other films in this set, audio is only lossy. This disc at least has some bountiful supplements, for anyone who may be considering making a purchase.
