Disney and Best Buy have collaborated on a store exclusive SteelBook release for the 2020 Superhero film 'The New Mutants.' The disc and digital content is identical to that found in the wide release. See the 'Special Features and Extras' section of the review below for more on the SteelBook's look and feel.

The New Mutants SteelBook peculiarly falls somewhere between glossy and matte. There's a mild sheen but it's not at all slippery or overly
smooth. The SteelBook doesn't show handling
fingerprints. The front panel simply recreates one of the film's theatrical posters depicting five panicked faces as if desperate to escape from underneath
a gray sheet. It's ghostly and a bit frightening. The grayscale theme continues on the rear where it's essentially the same as the front but with the faces
removed and replaced by a scrawled "X" and darker color around its edges to separate it from and give it more pop against the lighter gray around it.
Bottom center in black are Marvel and Fox logos and some legalese. A model number appears bottom right. The spine carries the gray background, too,
with the film's title scrawled center in yellow. An UltraHD logo appears at the top and a Fox logo at the bottom.
Inside, the digital copy code is tucked underneath the left-hand-side tabs. The two discs, one UHD and one Blu-ray, are situated on the right in
staggered-stacked formation. The inner print is a two-panel spread that features essentially "X-ray" images of the characters. They are identifiable by
their hair and what attire is visible, but the faces are all skulls. Some splashes of yellow color are interspersed throughout.

The New Mutants was received lukewarmly and its SteelBook is likewise underwhelming. It's different, but it's dull. That's subjective, of course, but isn't most everything movie related? The UHD presentation is fine. A worthwhile purchase for fans and collectors who like the style.
