Sword Art Online: Alicization Blu-ray Movie Review

Sword Art Online: Alicization is the third season of the mega-hit anime series. The third season picks up the story with Kirito (Yoshitsugu Matsuoka) being a part of the Rath company, a special crime division for the virtual reality world. Kirito is in a new virtual reality environment and with new missions awaiting him. Everything takes on a new and exciting landscape.

Sword Art Online: Alicization Blu-ray Movie, Video Quality 

Arriving on Blu-ray from Aniplex of America, Sword Art Online: Alicization is presented in 1080p MPEG-4 AVC encoded high definition in the original television broadcast aspect ratio of 1.78:1 widescreen. The third season of the series continues to be presented with a splendid high- definition image. The series showcases bright colors and a bold and visually compelling aesthetic. The Aniplex of America release features high bit-rates and superior encoding to streaming counterparts (which pale in comparison).

Sword Art Online: Alicization Blu-ray Movie, Audio Quality 

The set includes a selection of lossless audio options: the original Japanese uncompressed PCM 2.0 stereo (with English subtitles) and English uncompressed PCM 2.0 stereo. The third season stays in unison with the second season by offering both audio options in lossless, high-resolution audio. The season one set unfortunately only provided lossy audio for the English dub option. Thankfully, the third season has the English dub in a lossless format and fans of the dub will appreciate the quality boost that is provided.

Sword Art Online: Alicization is another installment in the virtual-reality saga. The third season of the series brings new elements to the table. The Blu-ray release has a strong video and audio presentation. Aniplex of America provides a large assortment of extras for the release. The release comes packaged in a beautiful collectors set. Recommended.
