Sword Art Online II Box Set Blu-ray Movie Review

Sword Art Online II Box Set Blu-ray Movie, Video Quality 

Arriving on Blu-ray from Aniplex of America, Sword Art Online is presented in 1080p MPEG-4 AVC encoded high definition in the original television broadcast aspect ratio of 1.78:1 widescreen. A wonderful presentation of the series, the second set offers fans bold, bright, and engaging color reproduction. The release is spectacular in high-definition and benefits from being spread across several discs (for better compression compared to streaming counterparts). Aniplex of America uses higher bit-rates and the results are an even better presentation.

Sword Art Online II Box Set Blu-ray Movie, Audio Quality 

The release is an improvement over the first season release. The set includes two lossless audio options: Japanese uncompressed PCM 2.0 stereo (with English subtitles) and English uncompressed PCM 2.0 stereo. The first season only provided lossless audio for the original Japanese language track. The release is a step-up as a result. Fans of the Japanese track will be pleased with the higher bit-rate presentation (which is more engaging to listen to).

Sword Art Online continues with the second season of the hit anime. The series explores the massive world of online role-playing games in a virtual reality setting. The Aniplex of America release has an impressive presentation with strong video-audio. The release includes a plethora of extras. Recommended.
