Paramount has widely released a UHD SteelBook packaging variant for the 2011 J.J. Abrams film 'Super 8.' The disc and digital content is identical to that found in the UHD wide release. See the 'Special Features and Extras' section of the review below for more on the SteelBook's look and feel.

Paramount's glossy and smooth Super 8 SteelBook will show handling fingerprints in the solidly darker areas. The front panel depicts a collage
of odds and ends, mostly character floating heads, and primarily, center from left to right (and growing increasingly larger in size), Jackson, Alice, and
Joe. Additional character are scattered along, bottom and top right primarily, while a fairly dark collage of key places and things from the film are
strewn about. The film's title appears top center accompanied by, prominently above in white, the names "J.J. Abrams" and "Steven Spielberg." The
rear panel depicts Joe and Alice, center, holding hands, seen from the back in full view, looking down a street at three bright lights shining on them.
Barely visible around the periphery are some tell-tale neighborhood elements, like mailboxes. The spine is black with the film's title center. Paramount,
Bad Robot, and Amblin logos appear up top while an UltraHD logo has been placed at the bottom.
Inside, the digital copy code is tucked underneath the left-hand-side tabs. The one UHD disc is situated on the right on its own hub. The inner print is a
two-panel spread that features five characters in a line, seen from the back, looking out on the train crash wreckage.

This is a decent SteelBook. The front panel offers a satisfying, if not busy, people, place, and thing collage. Everywhere else there's an emphasis on characters seen from the back. Curious. The film is terrific, as is the UHD presentation. Highly recommended.
