One of the most popular and enduring anime franchises, Naruto arrives in a deluxe limited-edition box-set containing the entire series run. Naruto: The Complete Series is a fantastic-package with a deluxe chipboard art-box, inner art print, and all five seasons across the eight box-set volumes. The set has collected the entire run in one convenient package for fans looking to own the full series run in one full swoop.

The release includes the eight individual box-sets. For more information on each of the volume sets included in the complete collection, please refer to the individual reviews linked to below:

Released on Blu-ray by Viz Media, Naruto: The Complete Series is presented in 1080i MPEG-4 AVC encoded high-definition in the original television broadcast aspect ratio of 1.33:1 full frame. The presentation is upscaled from standard definition. The materials used for the standard-definition upscales are low-quality compared to modern high-definition presentations with native animation produced for high-definition specification.
It is unfortunate as Naruto is such a fun and joyful anime but it just simply doesn't look that good in high-definition – especially given the fact the source material is inherently limited by the standard-definition material. Sure, the colorful animation is well-done, and Naruto will always be considered a classic but it unfortunately was produced in that most unfortunate time-period between film-based (native high-definition) scans (which are often more detailed looking than modern anime) and the modern native HD presentations of today. So much of the animation is completely limited to 480i animation, digitally animated, with no film cells to refer to or anything to rescan.
For the most discerning viewers, Anime Limited had an arrangement made to produce new upscales for the United Kingdom release – from one of the best boutique encoding companies in the business – so even though the source video is limited there may possibly be modest gains on the U.K. edition that is not present on the VIZ Media encodes. If you are not equipped for Region B or Region Free disc playback and just want to own a convenient box-set with all of the episodes, just keep in mind to lower your expectations about the quality of the presentation.

The release includes a selection of lossless audio options: English DTS-HD Master Audio 2.0 and Japanese DTS-HD Master Audio 2.0 (with English subtitles). The audio is serviceable if not a big improvement over the standard-definition video. The audio does the best with the source. Naruto: The Complete Series arrives with a limited-edition complete box-set. The complete series set has a fantastic and rigid outer hard-box that is one of the best outer boxes I have seen produced by VIZ. The outer-box is extremely thick and durable and it makes a solid impression. There is admirable heft and weight the box and it was designed to hold all of the sets and bonuses without being flimsy or poorly thought-out. The set will look great on a shelf and makes a nice collector's item. For fans wanting an impressively designed set to display and house the entire series, the set wins. The set looks great. It delivers a fantastic design and no fan will be disappointed by the box design. The set also comes with a booklet and a decal sticker sheet.
If there is one disappointment to the collection package design, it is the lack of the first-print run slipcovers provided to the standalone separate releases. The first print run included nice slips for each release. I checked the box and it seems as though the slipcovers should theoretically fit inside of the outer box.
It seems like an oversight that the slipcovers are not included with the complete package as well. I suppose double-dippers can always swap over the slipcovers to the complete set in theory, though I have not tested this myself to see if it is snug with the booklet. Regardless, it felt like something of an oversight by VIZ and would have been an extra cherry on top if the complete set had provided the slipcovers for slipcover fans.

Naruto: The Complete Series is an impressive box-set with the entire series run. I enjoyed Naruto immensely as a youth and it always entertained me in spades. Naruto holds up as a fun action-adventure. Fans of goofy comedy combined with martial arts action will find it an entertaining series.
The Blu-ray release of Naruto: The Complete Series provides upscaled high-definition presentations (with limited source material – limited to 480i upscaled animation). The presentation isn't a total slam-dunk but it is nice to see a complete set with gorgeous packaging and some extra swag. For someone who owns no prior releases and wants a beautifully designed set to display on the shelf, Naruto: The Complete Series is a fun series and the packaging isn't going to disappoint any fan. A wonderful gift idea for other Naruto fans, too. Recommended.
