Naruto: Set 7 continues to explore the exciting adventures of the fan-favorite anime series. The seventh collection includes even more exciting and adrenaline-infused episodes. The anime is an adaptation of the original manga series created by Masashi Kishimoto. The anime originally aired on television on Japanese network TV Tokyo.
The series was licensed for release on home media in North America from VIZ Media. The series continues to be a mega-hit success from production studio Pierrot (Boruto: Naruto Next Generations, Naruto: Shippűden). Naruto: Set 7 includes episodes 166-192 of the television series. Fans seeking new journeys with Naruto and friends will want to explore the collection.
The adventures of Naruto and friends never end. New dangers arrive when the Village Hidden in the Leaves faces unexpected turmoil. Ichiraku Ramen is discovered closed and Ayame’s now missing (a kidnapped victim who is M.W.A.). Naruto is devasted to not have any fresh noodles to chow down on and must persevere above all costs to find and rescue Ayame (if he ever wants to slurp down on those all so yummy noodles ever again)!
Yet the adventures don’t stop there – Naruto soon faces down even more tasks in front of him when he goes up against some new obstacles alongside the sea. Can Naruto master his Ninja moves and become the warrior he needs to be in order to win the new and suspenseful battles? Will Naruto’s ninja training help save him from more close-to-home obstacles? Naruto has a big mission ahead of him (and missing treasures to find).
The seventh collection continues the exciting adventures – a staple of the production. These episodes explore more adventurous themes and concepts. The episodes feature a plot-line involving missing treasures. These elements expand on the original narrative of the anime series. Naruto and friends journey on new and exciting tasks.
Cowabunga, Naruto!
The series is largely successful due to the fantastic cast of fan-favorite characters. At the heart of the series is the jubilant Naruto. The character is the wonderful charm anchoring the production and helping to keep the series as grounded and entertaining as ever. Naruto excels as a funny and charming leading character and it is no surprise that fans have found the character so entertaining and illuminating in their lives. The character makes the series all the more fun and there is something special about that: something that audiences can appreciate.
The animation on Naruto is first-rate. The art style is simply sublime and there is much to appreciate about the effort from the entire team of animators. The fantastic imagery and sense of aesthetic is moving and provides the series with a greater sense of depth. The manga was well adapted and animation fans won’t be able to resist the work on display with the series. The background art astonishes. The entire production is well realized from an animation standpoint.
The character designs are another potent element of the production. Naruto has an iconic and memorable character design. The effort fits the character perfectly. The end result is something legendary and fitting for the storytelling. The anime is all the better for these design components. The end result makes the series work with character designs to build these characters in to something even more astonishing to behold in the narrative.
The exciting action sequences impress in spades as well. The series has an outstanding sense of action-packed rhythm. The action is stunning at times and manages to bring viewers even closer to the story. There is something outstanding about the level at which the series excels as an action showcase. The entire production is all the more worthwhile because of these production aspects.
Naruto is a wonderfully fun and charming series with a good storyline. The staff writers do a solid job adapting the manga. The series finds fun ways to explore the characters and their tasks at hand. The elements of the story are often funny and charming. These aspects are enormously enjoyable as characters come first.
It is no surprise that Naruto is one of the most successful anime series of all time. The anime continues to be well directed and it has a massive sense of scale. The production is ambitious and the animation shines. The staff directors do an excellent job bringing the story to life. The visual panache of the series works in spades. Fans will be pleased with the continuing journey.
Arriving on Blu-ray from VIZ Media, Naruto: Set 7 is presented in 1080i MPEG-4 AVC encoded high definition in the original television aspect ratio of 1.33:1 full frame. The series has a wonderfully animated style and it translates well to the high-definition format. Despite the fact that these episodes are standard definition upscales, the presentation still manages to be a small improvement on standard definition masters. Though not a perfect transfer, the episodes showcase the animation nicely and have good color reproduction. The upscaled video still has some drawbacks (such as interlacing) but there are fewer compression artifacts than a standard DVD. Though a native high-definition presentation would be preferable, the upscale gets the job done.
The Blu-ray release includes a selection of lossless audio options: Japanese DTS-HD Master Audio 2.0 stereo (with English subtitles) and English DTS-HD Master Audio 2.0 stereo. The high-resolution audio tracks do a good job of presenting the series. Dialogue sounds clear and crisp. The music score is well reproduced. The entire sound design is worthwhile (especially for stereo audio). A solid effort from VIZ Media.

Storyboards – Episode 168 (includes six pages of storyboards).
