Reviewed by Martin Liebman December 30, 2023
Warner Brothers and Best Buy have collaborated on a store exclusive SteelBook release for the 2023 sequel film 'Meg 2: The Trench.' The disc and
digital content is identical to that found in the UHD wide release, but note the addition, here, of a Blu-ray copy. See the 'Special Features and Extras' section of the review below
for
more on the SteelBook's look and feel.

Meg 2: The Trench 4K Blu-ray Movie, Special Features and Extras

Warner Brothers' UHD SteelBook looks great. The front depicts the Meg, on the front, mouth wide open, filling almost the entirety of the panel. Water is
dripping off as if it just leaped up from underwater. A plane is flying away. The scale looks way off, but the image still looks cool. The film's title
appears in green, center. On the back is a serene shot if what appears to be "Fun Island" from the film, focusing on a peaceful crowded beach shot.
However, a large bite has been taken out of the picture along the top left side. A large billing block appears at the bottom. The spine is black with the
film's title in green, just about center. A green WB logo appears at the bottom.
Inside, the digital copy code is tucked underneath the left-hand-side tabs. The two discs, one UHD and one Blu-ray, are situated on the right in
staggered-stacked formation. The inner print is a two-panel spread that features the Meg's teeth lining the top, ready to chomp several swimmers who
are frantically splashing to escape.

Meg 2: The Trench 4K Blu-ray Movie, Overall Score and Recommendation

Even if the scale is off on the front, this is a cool looking SteelBook. The focus is definitely on teeth, with the front and inner panel prominently
displaying them and the rear panel showing a large bite. Good stuff. Sadly, the film is nowhere near as good as the original, but...it's not bad, either.
The UHD content is great, too. Recommended!
