"Meanwhile, in another universe…” In a switch from the typical genre, Madame Web tells the standalone origin story of one of Marvel publishing's most enigmatic heroines. The suspense-driven thriller stars Dakota Johnson as Cassandra Webb, a paramedic in Manhattan who may have clairvoyant abilities. Forced to confront revelations about her past, she forges a relationship with three young women destined for powerful futures...if they can all survive a deadly present.

Sony has widely released a UHD SteelBook packaging variant for the 2024 Superhero flop 'Madame Web.' The disc and digital content is identical to that found in the UHD/Blu-ray wide release. See the 'Special Features and Extras' section of the review below for more on the SteelBook's look and feel.

Sony's SteelBook release of Madame Web seems fairly befitting the movie: It looks nice enough but it's not exactly the epitome of inspired
SteelBook design. The semi glossy and smooth front panel is largely light gray or off-white, showing the title character in red, at distance, hovering
over
the city, seen only at the extreme bottom of the SteelBook. She's held up by some slim red webbing, and some dots or red spiders are to be seen
here
and there. Aesthetically, the there's not much going on here. The rear panel is simply a similar background with a full panel of red webbing with a few
red spiders crawling along it. The spine is also gray with the film's title in red color (not solid), center, with a small Columbia Pictures logo at the
bottom.
Inside, the digital copy code is tucked underneath the left-hand side tabs. The two discs, one UHD and one Blu-ray, are staggered-stacked on the
right
hand side. The inner panel is red with the film's villain, Ezekiel Sims, standing in a classic front-facing action pose on the left, with white webbing
behind him, which merges into a singular, denser stream through the right middle. The background is red.

Well, the movie is awful, the UHD looks and sounds stunning, and the SteelBook falls somewhere in the middle. It's adequate for sure, but somewhat uninspired as well. For hardcore fans of the film and packaging collectors only.
