Older but not wiser, Johnny Knoxville and the crew are back for the most unbelievably outrageous jackass yet. Brace yourself as they reach new levels of immaturity and with a little help from some brave new friends and guest stars, their wildly outrageous pranks and dangerously bone-crunching stunts will have you laughing until it really, really hurts. Some people never learn.

Somehow the Jackass franchise just keeps going, now celebrating 20 years of bringing Idiocracy to the big screen. The troupe, here with some new faces and still under the charge of fearless leader Johnny Knoxville, continues to hit below the belt and lower the bar by upping the antics and raising the stakes in a series of skits that usually involve genitalia and a whole lot of private parts pain.
Paramount's 1080p Blu-ray presentation of Jackass Forever is very good. The image is crystal clear. It is sharp and revealing, capable of revealing skin and hair details well beyond faces and arms and into the nitty-gritty private areas that are seen in abundance throughout the film. Natural environments are crisp and various mechanical objects that are part of the stunts are so sharp that viewers can study them down to the last screw and button. There are some lower grade cameras at work in order to squeeze footage from areas where a full-size camera cannot go, so there will be some lower grade material interspersed throughout, but those limitations did not factor into the final score. Colors are abundant and beautifully rendered. Skin tones are a key, and they are very lifelike while natural greens pop and clothing (yellow T-shirts, for example) are full and leap off the screen. Black levels are solid. Noise and encode issues are practically nonexistent. Fans will be very pleased with this Blu-ray.
Paramount's DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 lossless soundtrack offers a fine audio mix that is both detailed and aggressive. The opening Kaiju sequence offers well pronounced bass, crisp gunfire, and excellent surround integration and overall prioritization and balance. Bees swarm around during one key sequence with impressive surround distinction to the point that one can almost hear individual bees moving from speaker to speaker. General low-end engagement is balanced, musical reach along the front and through the rears is balanced and clarity is strong, and basic location atmosphere is nicely integrated. There are a few examples of sound elements lacking total finesse, but for the most part everything is in good working order. Dialogue is clear and centered for the duration.
This Blu-ray release of Jackass Forever includes a large list of additional scenes. No other bonus content is included. A
digital copy code is included with purchase. This release ships with a non-embossed slipcover.
If the title Jackass Forever is anything to go by, there might very well be yet another installment for this franchise in the future. No doubt Knoxville and crew are already dreaming up new ways to punish a penis and inflict maximum damage without doing any permanent harm. Fans of the series will enjoy this installment. It's more of the same, for better or for worse, so if anyone enjoyed the previous installments, then give this one a go, and for those who disliked the previous installments, go ahead and skip this. The video and audio presentations are top-notch. Supplements consist of a number of deleted skits and gags.
