Paramount has released a UHD SteelBook packaging variant for the classic 1984 Eddie Murphy film 'Beverly Hills Cop.' Beverly Hills Cop 4K Blu-ray Movie, Special Features and Extras  3.5 of 5

I'm a sucker for original poster art, and especially 80s movie poster art, and 80s Cop movies in particular (also think something like Lethal Weapon 2), so of course I am pleased to see Paramount go in this direction for the SteelBook. This is not the only poster art, but I think it's the most iconic, depicting Axel seated on the hood of a red Mercedes convertible with gun in hand. The film's title is below, at an angle, in familiar original type. I love it, and I wish Paramount had included a folded mini poster for icing on the cake, but it's nice to have here and instead of some generic five-minute Photoshop workup. The rear panel simply features a decorative Beverly Hills-inspired sign with one of Axel's quotes inside: "you're not gonna fall for the banana in the tailpipe?" again written at an upward angle. The spine is just right: black with the film's title center.

Inside, the digital copy code is tucked underneath the left-hand-side tabs. The two discs, one UHD and one Blu-ray, are situated on the right in staggered-stacked formation. The inner print is a two-panel spread that features a still from the film, with Axel on the left and a couple of cops behind him. It's not the most interesting interior ever, but it's adequate.

The interior could have been a little more exciting, but it gives a good image of Eddie Murphy's Axel Foley, which is fine. But the real star is the simple poster art front panel, which I love. The movie is a classic and the UHD is rock solid. Of course it comes highly recommended!
