Reviewed by Martin Liebman September 12, 2019
Disney and Best Buy have collaborated on a store exclusive SteelBook release for 1992's magical animated feature film 'Aladdin.' The disc and
digital content is identical to that found in the wide release. See the 'Special Features and Extras' section of the review below
for more on the SteelBook's look and feel.

Aladdin 4K Blu-ray Movie, Special Features and Extras

The SteelBook is glossy and smooth, a classic fingerprint attracting front and rear that looks quite nice with the predominately purple shades. There's
a gradient from dark to light top to bottom with some purple, sandy terrain appearing at the very bottom. The Genie's lamp is situated at the
bottom-left, a
wisp of smoke rising from its end. Opposite, but not quite on the same horizontal plane, is the "Signature Collection" stamp. The film's title
appears in golden, maybe even sandy, text, top-center, and it is debossed (minus "Disney"). A full moon appears below, center, while Aladdin and
Jasmine soar on the magic carpet on the right-hand side. The rear panel continues the image from the front, with the same color gradients and terrain,
but that wisp of smoke continues upward to reveal Genie, full body and grinning towards the viewer. The spine bridges the front and rear artwork, with
that wisp of smoke moving towards the back, allowing for a full scene when the SteelBook is open. The film's title, in the same color and script,
appears center. An UltraHD logo can be found at the top while a picture of Aladdin and a model number appear at the bottom.
Inside, the digital copy code is tucked underneath the left-hand-side tabs. The two discs, one UHD and one Blu-ray, are situated on the right in
staggered-stacked formation. The inner print is a two-panel spread that features a view of the Agrabah palace, presumably at sundown; a warm
skyline and similarly colored landscapes appear across the vista. It's a simple but elegant image that contrasts the more playful front and rear exterior
panels.

Aladdin 4K Blu-ray Movie, Overall Score and Recommendation

This is a very nice steelBook. The colors are spot-on, the simplicity is handsome, and the debossing work on the front is terrific. The on-disc content is
wonderful, too. Highly recommended.
