Temporary Routing Issues (Solved)

Posted November 14, 2012 06:23 PM by Webmaster

Blu-ray.com is hosted in New York and due to Hurricane Sandy and key data centers and buildings being affected and the aftermath of it, we are having temporary routing issues today (including our CDN, Content Delivery Network, handling images). We apologize for the interruption and we hope things can get back to normal as soon as possible.

Normally when we are down we post an announcement on our Facebook page, so please check that page to see what's going on if you can't access the site.

We want to point out that this is simply a problem accessing our site, it's not a problem with our server, so all collection data etc are safe. After the hard drive crash this summer we are having one complete site mirror which we can switch over to within minutes and we are doing backups to four different geographical locations and state/cumulative backups to external hard drives so we can roll back to a previous state. We have been able to restore almost all collections and data after the summer's crash, but losing data should never have happened in the first place, which we again deeply apologize for and are doing our best to ensure that it will never happen again.

Update

It seems like the routing issues are now solved for the main server (resulted in a downtime of about 2h), but the CDN might still be having routing problems.
