German distributors Koch Media have officially announced and detailed their upcoming 2D and 3D Blu-ray releases of Polish director Jerzy Hoffman's The Battle of Warsaw 1920 (2011), starring Borys Szyc, Natasza Urbanska and Daniel Olbrychski. Street date is December 7th.
The Battle of Warsaw 1920 is lensed by acclaimed cinematographer Slawomir Idziak, who collaborated with Krzysztof Kieslowski on Blue and The Double Life of Veronique, Andrew Niccol on Gattaca, and Ridley Scott on Black Hawk Down.
Earlier this year, the film was nominated for four Eagle Awards at the Polish Film Awards, including Best Supporting Actor (Adam Ferency) and Best Production Design (Zodiak Jerzy Hoffman Film Production Sp. z o.o.).
The Battle of Warsaw 1920 chronicles the epic clash between the Polish Army and the Red Army shortly after WWI, which will ultimately change the course of European history.
The Battle of Warsaw 1920 is Poland's first 3D film.
