Paul Thomas Anderson's award-winning The Master, one of the most anticipated films of the Autumn, will open on November 2nd exclusively at London's Odeon West End. For two weeks audiences will have the rare opportunity to see the film in 70mm, as Anderson intended, before it widens across London and the rest of the UK on November 16th.
The Master, Anderson's first film since the Oscar-winning There Will Be Blood, unfolds the journey of a Naval veteran (Joaquin Phoenix) who arrives home from war unsettled and uncertain of his future – until he is tantalized by The Cause and its charismatic leader (Philip Seymour Hoffman). Anderson's previous work includes Boogie Nights and Magnolia.
On its recent opening weekend in the U.S., The Master broke per screen average records, recording $145,949 per venue.
