French label Carlotta Films will release on Blu-ray Korean director Kim Ki-young's The Housemaid (1960). Described by director Bong Joon-ho (The Host) as "the Citizen Kane of Korean Cinema", the newly restored The Housemaid will be available for purchase on December 15th.
Note: In 2010, Im Sang-soo directed a remake of The Housemaid, starring Jeon Do-yeon, Lee Jung-Jae and Yoon Yeo-jeong, which was nominated for the Palme d'Or award at the Cannes Film Festival. In the U.S., the remake is available on DVD via MPI Home Video.
