Image Entertainment has detailed the release of director-provocateur Mads Brügger's The Ambassador. The lucrative business of becoming a foreign diplomat in a corrupt nation is treated with irreverent insight in Brügger's latest film, which comes to Blu-ray on October 16th.
Brügger's previous film and Sundance Grand Jury Prize winner The Red Chapel centered around the filmmaker's infiltration and exposure of the closed, inhuman world of North Korea. Now, in The Ambassador, he journeys into the gravely dangerous Central African Republic, in what he call's "performative journalism", posing as a businessman looking to acquire diplomatic credentials in order to dip into the lucrative blood diamond trade.
