Artificial Eye Acquires Australian Oscar Entry Lore

Independent British distributors Artificial Eye have acquired the distribution rights for director Cate Shortland's Lore (2012), a German language film which will represent Australia at the the 85th Academy Awards next year.
Earlier this year, Lore won the Audience Award at the Locarno International Film Festival in Switzerland.
Lore is director Shortland's second feature film. Her debut, Somersault (2004), won unprecedented thirteen Australian Film Institute Awards. Lore stars Saskia Rosendahl, Nele Trebs and André Frid.
After her Nazi parents are imprisoned, Lore leads her younger siblings across a war-torn Germany in 1945. Amidst the chaos, she encounters mysterious Jewish refugee Thomas, who shatters her fragile reality with hatred and desire. To live, she must trust someone she was taught to hate and face the darkness within herself.
