Focus Features will release Gus Van Sant's new film,
Promised Land (2012), in select theaters in New York and Los Angeles on December 28th. The film, which reunites the acclaimed director with Matt Damon, will get a wider theatrical run in January 2013.
The film tells the story of a salesman for a natural gas company who begins to reevaluate his life after he relocates to a small town.
Promised Land was co-written by Matt Damon and John Krasinski. The duo also produced the film together with Chris Moore, who produced Gus Van Sant's highly acclaimed
Good Will Hunting.
