DreamWorks Animation SKG Inc. said late Monday that it signed a new five-year distribution deal with 20th Century Fox Entertainment. The deal covers distribution of packaged media, digital and subscription video-on-demand content. Fox replaces Paramount Pictures, which was DreamWorks' partner since 2006.

Under the new agreement, Fox will receive 8% of revenue from box-office and packaged media sales. For digital content, including video-on-demand and download-to-own, Fox will receive a 6% distribution fee.

DreamWorks will retain the right to distribute its content on domestic television networks. Previously, the studio had to share revenues with Paramount.

Currently, Fox also has a distribution deal with Blue Sky Animation, which produced the Ice Age movies (Ice Age, Ice Age: Continental Drift, Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs, Ice Age: A Mammoth Christmas Special) and Rio.
