Buena Vista Home Entertainment has announced that they will release both 'National Treasure' and its sequel 'National Treasure: Book of Secrets' for Blu-ray on May 20th, with 'Book of Secrets' being a day-and-date release with the DVD. In typical Disney fashion, both features will likely see 1080p AVC video transfers along with 24-bit PCM audio.

Extras for 'National Treasure' were not announced at this time, but expect them to be similar to the previous DVD release. This would include audio commentary, alternate ending, deleted scenes, and eight featurettes. Extras for 'Book of Secrets' will share extras with the DVD release - with audio commentary, multiple making-of featurettes, and blooper reel - along with deleted scenes and an additional featurette exclusive to the Blu-ray release.
National Treasure: Nicolas Cage stars as Benjamin Franklin Gates, third-generation treasure hunter. All his life, Gates has been searching for a treasure no one believed existed -- one that was amassed through the ages, moved across continents, and has become the greatest treasure the world has ever known. The Founding Fathers hid the riches and left clues right before our eyes: in our nation's birthplace, the nation's capitol... there are even clues buried within the symbols on the dollar bill. Gates' life-long journey leads him to the last place anyone thought to look: a map hidden on the back of the Declaration of Independence.
National Treasure: Book of Secrets: When a missing page from the diary of John Wilkes Booth surfaces, Ben''s great-great grandfather is suddenly implicated as a key conspirator in Abraham Lincoln''s death. Determined to prove his ancestor''s innocence, Ben follows an international chain of clues that takes him on a chase from Paris to London and ultimately back to America. This journey leads Ben and his crew not only to surprising revelations--but to the trail of the world''s most treasured secrets.
