Venice Selects Orizzonti and Opera Prima Juries

The Venice International Film Festival has announced the members of the International Jury of Orizzonti and the International Jury of "Luigi De Laurentiis" Venice Award for a Debut Film. The festival runs from August 29th to September 8th.

International Jury of Orizzonti

• President - Italian actor Pierfrancesco Favino
• Sandra den Hamer, former Rotterdam Festival director
• Visual artist Runa Islam, nominated for the 2008 Turner Prize
• American producer Jason Kliot, who has collaborated with such acclaimed directors as Brian De Palma, Jim Jarmusch, Steven Soderbergh and Todd Solondz
• Lebanese director and actress Nadine Labaki, who achieved international success and acclaim with Caramel and Where Do We Go Now?
• New York-based Macedonian director Milcho Manchevski, who won the prestigious Golden Lion Award in 1994 with Before the Rain
• Iranian director Amir Naderi (who lives and works in exile in New York City)

Opera Prima International Jury

• President - Indian director and producer Shekhar Kapur
• French-Greek film critic and historian Michel Demopoulos, former director of the Salonicco Film Festival
• Italian actress Isabella Ferrari, who was awarded the Volpi Cup at the Venice Film Festival in 1995 for her role in Ettore Scola's film Romanzo di un giovane povero
• American film writer and director Matt Reeves, co-creator of the popular U.S. television series Felicity and director of Cloverfield and Let Me In
• French DJ and record producer Bob Sinclar, a key figure in the world of house and techno music
