Junkhearts Wins Best Film Award in Moscow

UK director Tinge Krishnan's Junkhearts has won the Moscow International Film Festival's (MIFF) "Golden George" Award for Best Film. The Special Jury Prize went to Mexican director Kenya Marquez's for her Fecha De Caducidad a.k.a Expiration Date.

The "Silver George" Award for Best Director went to Russian filmmaker Andrey Proshkin (The Horde).

Eddie Marshan won Best Actor Award for his performance in Junkhearts, while Roza Hairullina won Best Actress Awards for her performance in The Horde.

The jury, led by veteran Brazilian director Hector Babenco, also recognized Tim Burton with Special Prize for An Outstanding Contribution To The World Cinema.

The FIPRESCI jury members gave their prize to Italian director Stefano Sollima for his controversial film ACAB: All Cops Are Bastards.

The Audience Award was won by Italian director Ferzan Ozpetek's Magnificent Presence.

Finally, the festival's Special Prize for The Outstanding Achievement In The Career Of Acting and Devotion To The Principles of K.Stanislavsky's school went to French actress Catherine Deneuve.
