Tetsuo: The Iron Man /Tetsuo 2: Body Hammer Detailed

Independent British distributors have detailed their upcoming Blu-ray release of Shinya Tsukamoto's steam-punk classics Tetsuo / Tetsuo II: Body Hammer. Remastered from their original negatives with the Japanese director himself overseeing the restoration process, the films will be available for purchase on September 24th.

In Tetsuo - The Iron Man (1988) an office worker hits a metal fetishist with his car and then inexplicably begins to sprout metal shards from his body. Keen to understand the strange things that are happening to him, he journeys deep into a strange parallel world where humans perform DIY body alterations and women are fitted-out with replacement robotic arms.
Tetsuo 2 - Bodyhammer (1992) follows an unassuming office worker who suffers an extreme reaction when his son is kidnapped by members of a skinhead cult. His anger is such that he begins to mutate into a metallic killing machine capable of unleashing almost infinite violence upon anyone who opposes him.
