In August, Universal Studios Home Entertainment will bring The Lorax to Blu-ray. This animated adaptation of the classic Dr. Seuss tale stars the voice of Danny DeVito (It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia) as the title character, a weary woodland creature trying to warn people about the perils of deforestation.

From Universal's official synopsis:

"Directed by Chris Renaud and Kyle Balda (Despicable Me)...the film is an imaginative journey that begins in the town of Thneedville, where a boy (Zac Efron, Hairspray) searches for the one thing he knows will win the heart of his dream girl (Taylor Swift, Valentine's Day). But in order find it, he must discover the story of the Lorax (DeVito), the often grumpy but lovable protector of Truffula Valley."

The feature also includes the voices of Ed Helms (Cedar Rapids), Rob Riggle (21 Jump Street), Jenny Slate (Alvin and the Chipmunks: Chipwrecked), and Betty White (The Proposal).

Universal is offering The Lorax in two HD iterations - a Blu-ray 3D/Blu-ray/DVD/UltraViolet Digital Copy combo pack and a Blu-ray/DVD/UltraVioley Digital Copy combo pack.

Both versions present the film in its 1.85:1 original aspect ratio with a 5.1 DTS-HD Master Audio track. In addition to Universal's standard BD-Live, pocket BLU, Advanced Remote Control, Video Timeline, Mobile-To-Go, and Keyboard functionalities, the sets also contain the following supplements:
