British distributors Odeon Entertainment have revealed that they are preparing a Blu-ray release of director Roy Boulting's
Sailor of the King (1953), starring Jeffrey Hunter, Michael Rennie and Wendy Hiller. Exact technical specs for this release are unknown at the moment, but the preliminary street date set by the distributors is July 16th.
When his cruiser is sunk by the Nazis, Signalman Brown (Hunter) is captured. Breaking loose in a daring escape, he steals a rifle and is able to pick off German sailors one by one as they try to repair their damaged ship. As the frustrated battalion closes in on his hideout, Brown fights on, determined to hold them off till the British can regroup and return... and send the enemy to the bottom!
