Machine Gun Preacher Blu-ray

In June, Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment will bring Machine Gun Preacher to Blu-ray. Based on a true story, this drama stars Gerard Butler (How to Train Your Dragon) as Sam Childers, a drug-dealing criminal who experiences a crisis of conscience and turns to Christianity for salvation. Childers' newfound faith sends him to Sudan, where he takes up arms against the brutal Lord's Resistance Army terrorizing the local communities.

Directed by Marc Forster (Monster's Ball), the film features an impressive supporting cast that includes Michelle Monaghan (Source Code), Kathy Baker (Take Shelter), Madeline Carroll (Mr. Popper's Penguins), Michael Shannon (Boardwalk Empire), and Souleymane Sy Savane (Goodbye Solo).

While Fox has not yet detailed the complete technical and supplementary specifications for this Blu-ray/DVD/Digital Copy combo pack, the studio's official press release promises a set, "complete with special features and commentary."

Machine Gun Preacher streets on June 5th.
