Later this year, Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment will bring Zorba the Greek to Blu-ray. Director Mihalis Kakogiannis' classic adaptation of the Nikos Kazantzakis novel stars Anthony Quinn (The Guns of Navarone) as the title character, an exuberant middle-aged Greek man who helps a shy British writer (Alan Bates, The Sum of All Fears) reconnect with life.
A critical and commercial darling, the film received seven Oscar nominations at the 1965 Academy Awards Ceremony, including:

Best Director: Mihalis Kakogiannis
Best Actor: Anthony Quinn
Best Supporting Actress: Lila Kedrova
Best Adapted Screenplay: Mihalis Kakogiannis

Kedrova, Lassally, and Photopoulos won in their respective categories.
The Blu-ray will present the film with an aspect ratio of 1.66:1 and a monaural DTS-HD Master Audio track. The disc also features the following bonus supplements:
