American Pie on Blu-ray

As part of its 100th Anniversary this year, Universal Studios Home Entertainment will offer re-issues of catalog titles, and the American Pie films will arrive on Blu-ray in the March wave. This raunchy comedy series follows a group of best friends as they fumble through their respective sexual maturations.

Each American Pie title covers a different time period in the group's misadventures. The first picture starts in high school, as the protagonists attempt to have sex for the first time before going to college.

American Pie 2 picks up during the college years, with the group older - but definitely not wiser - and trying to navigate through the sexual exploration realm.

The third film in the franchise, American Wedding, takes a skewed look at adulthood as the gang reunites for the wedding of hapless Jim (Jason Biggs, Eight Below) to his high-school fling Michelle (Alyson Hannigan, How I Met Your Mother).

In addition to Biggs and Hannigan, the series' ensemble cast includes Chris Klein (Election), Thomas Ian Nicholas (Please Give), Shannon Elizabeth (Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back), Tara Reid (The Big Lebowski), Eddie Kaye Thomas (Harold & Kumar Escape from Guantanamo Bay), Mena Suvari (American Beauty), Natasha Lyonne (Kate & Leopold), Chris Owen (The Mist), Jennifer Coolidge (Bad Lieutenant: Port of Call New Orleans), Fred Willard (This is Spinal Tap), January Jones (Mad Men), Seann William Scott (Role Models), and Eugene Levy (Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian) as Jim's overly-well-meaning father.

Universal's individual Blu-ray/DVD/Digital Copy combo packs present the unrated versions of these three films in their original aspect ratios - 1.85:1 for American Pie & American Pie 2, and 2.39:1 for American Wedding - with 5.1 DTS-HD Master Audio tracks.
