As part of its 100th Anniversary this year, Universal Studios Home Entertainment will offer special re-issues of selected catalog titles, and the Buck Privates Blu-ray will arrive in the April wave. This feature stars legendary comedy duo Bud Abbott and Lou Costello (Abbott and Costello Meet Frankenstein) as two hapless salesmen whose efforts to avoid the law find both men enrolled in boot camp.
The film that established Abbott and Costello as major box-office draws, Buck Privates also received two Oscar nominations at the 1942 Academy Awards Ceremony - Best Music Score: Charles Previn and Best Original Song, "Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy of Company B": Hugh Prince & Don Raye.
Universal's Blu-ray/DVD combo pack presents the film in its 1.37:1 original aspect ratio with a 2.0 DTS-HD Master Audio track. The set also includes a number of bonus materials, such as:
