Sony Pictures Home Entertainment will bring Anonymous to Blu-ray next year. Best known for his work on grand-scale disaster pictures like Independence Day, The Day After Tomorrow, and 2012, director Roland Emmerich has used this historical conspiracy thriller to tell the story of Edward De Vere, the Earl of Oxford (Rhys Ifans, Mr. Nice).
Anonymous posits that De Vere, under the influence of Queen Elizabeth I and the Essex Rebellion, actually authored playwright William Shakespeare's celebrated dramas.
Sony's Blu-ray presents the film in its original aspect ratio of 2.39:1 with 5.1 DTS-HD Master Audio tracks. The disc also features a number of bonus supplements, including:
